Final Choice

Image
Ok, so first I have no idea why my pictures are acting up and are misplaced but my contest is over and we have a winner and runner up. The winner is Mahabat Taha and the Runner up is Grace Loop. I would like to thank them fore entering my contest and I would like to thank everyone who entered my project!!! Also an update on my t-shirts. I plan on going into NuWaka today (6/8/18) and print my shirts and distribute them in the next week or two!!!

CONTEST!!!!!!

Image
So another big idea popped into my head. I wanted to create a contest. This contest will be finished May 31st and the winner will be announced June 1st. So far as of 5/27/18 I have one submission and it’s actually pretty amazing! And hopefully more people will submit drawings to me. Also, I have started to sell my t-shirts! I created an order form and we already have some sales. The most popular one is the Special Edition Caleb Mallery design, which he thinks is amazing. But anyways, if you are interested in buying a shirt from me, leave a comment or email my @ zachary.tatar@uek12.org!

Getting Ready!

Image
So I finally got to meet with Mr. Cupp from NuWaka and talked to him about my designs and what I can do about my designs and all that fun stuff. Anyways, I am thinking about when I get enough money to buy my own heat press and my own transfer paper, that I could get some help with designing and/or selling them. It would reduce my work load and who knows, maybe the person helping me would get paid. :) All in all, of you have any suggestions on what I should put on a T-shirt put it in the comments, it would definitely be a huge help for me!

Thank You Nuwaka!!!!

So last week, during break, I reached out to the owner of Nuwaka and emailed him about using his heat presses to start out and get some more money to buy my own heat press. So I want to thank Mr. Cupp for emailing me back telling me that he'd do anything to help. Hopefully he can help me create shirt designs because its taken me about 2 hours to draw one design and about 30 mins to do another but this one was paint and no color. So it was just all black and it has like an aesthetic look to it. At least I think it does.

Survey!!!!

Image
One of my friends, Izzy Carr, helped me with my project. I had many questions for her and she said that if I was indecisive, I should just create a poll/survey. So thats what I did. I created a survey that I hope to have handed out to people this week before break. A few questions that I ask is about price, type of designs, and if they have any suggestions for me. Hopefully I'll have many people take the survey so I get an insight on what consumers want and not what I think they want.

Fundraising :)

Image
Hello again! I've got some really good news! So I started fundraising with chocolate bars. I raised about 50-60 dollars in just 2 days. Which is amazing! But I have to give my father $20 since he payed for the two boxes which leaves me with about $40-45 left. :/ Plus, Mrs. Gere-Penna yelled at me for selling chocolates, but it doesn't matter, I still made $40 before she shut me down. :)

Ack :(

Hello! Welcome back to my blog! So first off, people have been giving me more ideas but now its starting to feel like they are demanding me to do their design. Like the picture above, someone wanted me to do something like that. I'm trying to stand my ground and do the pictures/designs that I want to do. Secondly, my mother and I are just going to sell chocolate at my dad's work, my mom's work, and before and after school hours at school. I think this way we can sell more and get more people to support my project. :)

Unsure...

Image
So as you can tell from the title of this blog, I'm unsure about how I will get fundraising for the materials I'd need for my project. Plus, I am unsure about if I want to do screen printing or a Heat Press and just print out designs and press them onto a shirt. I am 10% sure of what I want to do for my fundraiser. I want to sell chocolate and/or candy. But, I don't know if I am even able to sell things in school. I probably can ask Mrs. Gere-Penna or someone if I can sell things in school. But anyways, I was talking to some peers the other day and I was recommended that I should have a new theme every month or so. I was also give the idea that I should also do sweatshirts, hoodies and sweatpants. Which I personally think it a good idea but it will cost a lot of money. Plus I want to focus on get started up.

New Ideas!!

Image
This is my second post! I am very excited to say that I have came up with two more ideas. The first one being the hand in my first painting that I made. (Yes, I am into painting as well as t-shirt designing.) Maybe it will be be able to be rainbow like the picture but currently I am just trying to come up with ideas. My second idea is the bubbles and lines design on my second painting. I don't know how well that one will come out but maybe it will be good. I might take it out though, it looks better on painting than it does life like and on a t-shirt. I am also still looking for ideas to help fund raise and get supplies needed to print on the t-shirts. Plus, to get shirts to print on. I might have a t-shirt donation, when people can drop of (preferably) new shirts.

Intro Post

Hello, my name is Zachary Tatar! And this is my 20% project blog. For my 20% project I would like to do something with T-Shirt design and having some of that money go to homeless children and adults. I was inspired by my love for art and wanting to do something fun with clothing. I hope to one day have a online shop of my own to sell these custom shirts. I’m going to need all the help I can get with starting the online store, the fund raising to get the stuff I need for printing on the shirts and getting my store out in the world where people would see and buy the shirts. I’m thinking that 75% of the money will go to a fund raiser for homeless adults and children, the other 25% would go into getting the resources need for the shirts.
